Let’s go English! (and welcome the international world…)

by Douwe Pieter van den Bos on August 3, 2009 · 0 comments

The last few months some things changed here at Ome-B.nl. Last December I started analyzing the traffic on Ome-B.nl using Google Analytics. First, because it was free, second, because I was curious where my visitors came from. The other thing that changed was that Ome-B.nl got more and more international visitors, mainly because I got followed on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and other websites (I guess it’s good that I’m not paranoid) by a lot of people outside of The Netherlands. It was a difficult choice, but now I made it. I will start writing in English. A few of you probably noticed it too: Ome-B.nl isn’t solely about APEX anymore. Although I love the tool, I wrote a book about it, but I love it for a reason (always ask yourself why!) and therefore I started writing about Business, IT and vision a long time ago. Ome-B.nl will change these coming weeks, and the language isn’t the only thing. Over 46% of the visitors (according to Google Analytics) over the past 4 months have been from outside The Netherlands. I assume that the Dutch have a great knowledge about the English language, so I hope they won’t be disappointed too much about this change…
